For those traveling from the city of Jakarta to Bandung (and vice versa) could enjoy a much more convenient mode of transport after the launching of first-class railway service Argo Parahyangan on March 9th, 2018. The first class was initially only available to accommodate, but now, the priority course can be obtained for individual passengers as state-owned railway operator PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) aims at enhancing its services and also to accommodate more extensive needs.

Similar to luxury trains in Europe, the Argo Parahyangan Priority includes various exceptional facilities and the latest in technology. These include sound video on demand (AVOD) in each chair, a minibar, 52-inch flat screen TV, particular attendants, luxurious toilet, in addition to premium seats that are much more comfortable than the places in the executive course. Passengers are also treated using a coffee break session offering free stream coffee, tea, snacks, and mineral water. The inside of the car is dominated by the color brown and features timeless wooden decoration.

Presently, the Argo Parahyangan train that operates every day, leaving from Gambir Station in Jakarta at 8:45 a.m. and 6:45 p.m., also from Bandung Station at 2:45 p.m. Ticket cost is set at IDR 200,000, and a total of 28 seats are available. Ticket reservation is possible on the mobile app of PT KAI, KAI accessibility, and the company’s site KAI.id.
